How to Change Your MInecraft Server's MOTD
The MOTD or Message of the Day, is the welcome message that appears in the multiplayer server list. It sets the tone and gives players a quick glimpse of what to expect when they join your server. You can use the MOTD to promote events, share server rules, or simply welcome players to your server.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to change your server’s MOTD in Nexus, using the server configuration file.
Log in to your Nexus Hosting Account.

Once on the dashboard, find and select your intended Minecraft server.

Select the Files option from the sidebar to access your server’s root directory.

Locate and select the server.properties file. This configuration file governs many settings for your server, including the MOTD.

Find the motd line. Erase the default text and type your new Message of the Day.
You can format the message with color codes if you’d like. Just add the color code before your message like “\u00A78 New Message of the Day!”
Color options include:
Black: \u00A70
